Are you an experienced procurement professional looking for a new challenge? Our client, a leading company in the Chemicals industry, is seeking a Category Mangaer for Direct Material to join their dynamic team in Stockholm.
The client is investing heavily in procurement and has ambitious plans to double the size of the procurement team in the next 2 years, from 60 to 120.
As Category Mangaer, reporting to the Director of Procurement & Planning for Nordics. you will lead part of the chemiclas category across EMEA (15 countries).
This will be a highly strategic position in a dynamic landscape that requires entrepreneurial individuals to step in to the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement regional category plans and strategies.
- Manage RFQs, supplier selections, negotiations, and finalise agreements.
- Ensure compliance with sustainability, contract, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive risk management in strategy and supplier selection.
- Contribute to CSRD reporting and ensure suppliers meet HSE, ethical, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with Category Management, Planning, Logistics, and R&D to secure cost-effective formulations.
- Deliver optimized total cost of material and drive cost-saving initiatives.
- Manage relationships with key internal stakeholders and align with EMEA category managers.
- Conduct market intelligence and follow up on external market developments.
- Oversee contract management, including renewals and renegotiations.
- Maintain accurate master data for suppliers, materials, and contracts.
- Own supplier relationships and drive strategic supplier development.
- Support the development and improvement of procurement processes.
- Follow up and report on defined KPIs.
- Represent the defined category in global purchasing network forums.
- Support global lead-buyers and EMEA category managers.
