Overview:
As a Senior Purchasing Agent, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the company's growing businesses. You will act as a key liaison between the Procurement team and internal stakeholders, including the Executive Team, Engineering, Sales, and Manufacturing. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the timely and efficient execution of high visibility and high value programs by working closely with Program/Project teams. This role involves significant procurement planning during both the bidding and post-award phases, requiring you to source, identify, and prequalify vendors, develop comprehensive RFPs, and negotiate agreements. Additionally, you will capture and communicate market intelligence across projects and programs to inform procurement strategies. Your expertise will help the company achieve the best value and lowest total cost of acquisition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan procurement during the bidding phase, including understanding contract specifications and bills of material.
- Source, identify, and prequalify vendors, develop comprehensive RFPs, analyze quotes, and negotiate agreements.
- Develop and manage the Procurement Plan, both pre- and post-award.
- Transfer bid phase documents and knowledge to the project team, and engage in procurement planning and implementation.
- Capture and communicate market intelligence across projects and programs.
- Evaluate and incorporate current market conditions into procurement plans, including pricing trends, lead times, and best value opportunities.
- Read and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules.
- Travel to project sites, manufacturers, and vendors as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
- Experience in sourcing and negotiating contracts with OEMs and subcontractors.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and Excel.
- Familiarity with accounting principles.

- Dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers.
- Effective listening, speaking, and reading comprehension.
- Problem-solving and understanding speech.
