Job Description: Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (6-Month Contract)

Location: Remote (with bi-monthly travel to the facility)
Contract Length: 6 Months

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Lean Six Sigma Black Belt for a 6-month contract position. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in Lean Six Sigma methodologies, with a strong background in the financial services industry. Additionally, experience with IT process improvement and IT service management (ITSM) is highly preferred. The role will focus on driving process improvement initiatives using DMAIC methodology to achieve significant business results, particularly in IT and financial services processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation and execution of Lean Six Sigma initiatives, utilizing the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) methodology to improve business processes.
  • Identify process inefficiencies, reduce waste, and drive improvements in operational performance, including IT-related processes and customer experience.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including leadership, to define project goals, develop strategies, and execute process improvement initiatives in IT and financial services domains.
  • Utilize data analysis and process mapping techniques to uncover insights and deliver actionable solutions for IT operations and other operational challenges.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to team members on Lean Six Sigma principles, ensuring the sustainability of improvements, with a particular focus on IT teams and technology solutions.
  • Develop and present detailed reports on project progress, financial impact, and key performance metrics to stakeholders.
  • Ensure alignment of improvement projects with organizational goals and objectives, particularly around IT service delivery and financial services processes.
  • Lead process improvement workshops, brainstorming sessions, and team meetings to ensure collaboration and buy-in from key stakeholders, including those in IT and technology-driven departments.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Lean Six Sigma, including leading and executing DMAIC projects.
  • Proven experience in the financial services industry, with a solid understanding of its operations, processes, and challenges.
  • Strong experience in IT process improvement, including working with ITSM principles and improving IT service delivery.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification from a recognized program.
  • Demonstrated success in driving process improvements and achieving measurable results in cost reduction, efficiency gains, and enhanced customer satisfaction.
  • Strong data analysis skills with experience using tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and process mapping software (e.g., Visio).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams, including IT departments.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Must be able to travel to the facility approximately once every two months (travel costs will be covered).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ITSM (IT Service Management) principles is a plus.
  • Familiarity with other process improvement methodologies such as Kaizen or Agile is an asset.
  • Experience in a remote work environment and working with geographically dispersed teams.
