Company Overview:
This client is a fast-growing logistics company, they are currently expanding their team to support new and exciting projects. Their focus is on providing high-quality project logistics solutions across various industries. As they aim to strengthen their presence in the South of Netherlands, this client is seeking a motivated and driven Business Development Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong business development mindset, experience in freight forwarding, and the ability to drive results by identifying new business opportunities.

Position Overview:
This client is looking for a Business Development Manager who will focus on project logistics and business development in the South Netherlands. The right candidate will have a solid background in freight forwarding, but experience in the industrial and project logistics sectors is a bonus (though not required). This client values individuals with the right attitude and a willingness to learn. This is a hybrid role with regular visits to the Rotterdam office, and travel within the South Netherlands region is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead business development efforts, focusing on project logistics.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong relationships with potential clients.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure smooth project execution and client satisfaction.
  • Manage the entire sales process, from lead generation to closing deals.
  • Tailor logistics solutions to meet client needs, particularly in industrial and project sectors (e.g., construction, energy, infrastructure).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, expanding business within existing accounts.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure high-quality project delivery and overall operational success.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in business development, sales, or account management within the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
  • Knowledge of the logistics market, with a focus on project logistics and freight forwarding.
  • Experience in the industrial logistics or project logistics sectors is a bonus, but this client is open to candidates willing to learn.
  • Strong business development mindset with the ability to identify and pursue new opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with clients and internal teams.
  • Proactive, results-driven, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid setting with flexibility to travel within the Netherlands.
  • Dutch-speaking is preferred

Desirable Experience:

  • Familiarity with the industrial and project logistics sectors (e.g., construction, energy, infrastructure) is a plus.
  • A strong understanding of the logistics process, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Previous experience in a business development or sales role focused on long-term client relationships and business growth.
