Demand Planner
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Demand Planner to join our client's dynamic Supply Chain team in Rotterdam. The Demand Planner will play a key role in ensuring that the company maintains optimal inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing excess stock. Key Responsibilities:
- Demand Forecasting: Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and seasonal patterns to create accurate demand forecasts for multiple product categories.
- Collaboration: Work closely with sales, marketing, finance, and operations teams to gather insights and align on demand assumptions. Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure product availability.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels to ensure product availability while avoiding stockouts or excess inventory. Propose and implement inventory optimization strategies.
- Order Management: Assist in determining order quantities and timing for raw materials, finished goods, and components based on demand forecasts and lead times.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to demand planning, inventory turnover, and forecast accuracy. Use data-driven insights to recommend adjustments to forecasts and strategies.
- Process Improvement: Continuously review and improve forecasting processes and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Risk Management: Identify and address any potential risks in the supply chain related to demand fluctuations, supplier delays, or other factors that could impact delivery performance.
- Demand Planning Software: Utilize demand planning and forecasting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) to facilitate planning activities and maintain up-to-date data.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., APICS CPIM) is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in demand planning, supply chain, or a related role, ideally within a fast-paced or global environment.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with large data sets.
- Proficient in demand planning software and Microsoft Excel (advanced).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of forecasting methodologies and inventory management techniques.
- Languages: Fluency in English is required. Dutch language skills are a plus but not mandatory.
