We are seeking a Senior HR Generalist / Assistant HR Manager who will play a pivotal role in supporting the execution of the HR strategy at our Brooklyn site. This on-site position is ideal for a driven professional with the capability and ambition to grow into an HR Manager role within our organization. Reporting to the Senior Human Resources Business Partner, this role provides comprehensive HR support to both the Leadership Team and employees. Key responsibilities include payroll administration, talent acquisition, onboarding, coaching and training People Leaders, employee recognition, engagement, and performance management. As a strategic business partner, this individual will work closely with leadership to identify challenges, develop solutions, and implement HR programs and processes that drive positive business outcomes.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Ensuring workplace safety and adherence to regulations, PPE, and food safety policies.

  • Leading full-cycle talent acquisition and onboarding for new hires.

  • Serving as the primary resource for ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing.

  • Performing routine tasks and providing HR support in areas like benefits, leave administration, and employee relations.

  • Advising leadership on company policies, workplace issues, and compliance with employment laws.

  • Driving cultural initiatives, wellness programs, and community engagement.

  • Supporting workforce planning, recruitment strategies, and process improvements.

  • Identifying HR trends and recommending improvements for retention, training, and career development.

Skills We Hope To See

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 8+ years of HR experience, preferably in manufacturing/unionized environments.

  • Certifications like PHR, SPHR, MBTI/DISC, or PROSCI are a plus.

  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, workers' compensation, and safety protocols.

  • Experience with applicant tracking, LMS, and HR systems.

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with a strong ability to run reports and analyze data.
