We are a leading plastics manufacturer specializing in injection and blow molding, with over 25 years of industry experience. We are a customer-centric company dedicated to delivering high-quality products and services. We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Metrology Technician to join our 2nd shift team.
The Metrology Technician will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and precision of our products. Collaborating closely with Quality Engineers and Project Engineers, you will participate in various activities, including conducting thorough First Article Inspections (FAIR) to ensure initial samples meet specifications, developing and implementing programs for inspection equipment to maintain accuracy, performing Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility (GR&R) studies to ensure measurement consistency, designing and developing fixtures to support accurate measurements, executing precise measurements based on Design of Experiments (DOE), and analyzing processes to ensure they meet capability standards.
The Metrology Technician will be responsible for:
- Set up programs and train Quality Leaders to ensure parts meet acceptance criteria at startup, in-process, and final inspections.
- Conduct incoming inspections and provide Certificates of Compliance with supporting data for product shipments.
- Oversee the calibration system, including outsourcing instruments and maintaining documentation in IQMS.
- Work closely with all members of the quality department and perform tasks assigned by the Administrator-Quality in a timely and accurate manner.
- Support production, toolroom, engineering, and customer needs.
- Train and mentor new department members.
- Learn to operate DataColor equipment for reading color samples and products.
- Perform MFI testing on incoming resin lots and post-molding parts.
The Metrology Technician will have the following qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience with GD&T
- Minimum 2 years of experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines
