Reliability Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Reliability Engineer to join our clients engineering team in the heart of the food and beverage industry. In this role, you'll focus on improving the reliability, efficiency, and safety of production assets in a highly regulated environment. You'll be a key player in minimising downtime, optimising maintenance strategies, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor equipment performance and lead root cause analyses (RCA) on failures and chronic issues.

  • Implement and improve reliability-centred maintenance (RCM) practices across production lines.

  • Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to enhance equipment up time and reduce operational risks.

  • Utilise data from CMMS systems and predictive tools to drive proactive maintenance strategies.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimising asset life cycle and reducing cost of failure.

  • Support capital investment projects with a focus on long-term reliability and maintainability.

  • Ensure maintenance activities are aligned with HACCP, GMP, and other food safety requirements.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering (or related field).

  • 3+ years of experience in a reliability, maintenance role within a food, beverage, or FMCG environment.

  • Strong understanding of reliability engineering methods

  • Working knowledge of food safety standards and regulations in the Netherlands/EU (HACCP, GMP, etc.).

  • Strong communication skills in English; Dutch is a plus.

  • Eligible to work in the Netherlands (EU work permit or residency).


Nice to Have

  • Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) or equivalent certification.

  • Experience with TPM, Lean, or Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Familiarity with predictive maintenance tools

  • Knowledge of ISO 22000 or BRC standards.
