On behalf of an international shipping company with a global footprint, we are recruiting for a

Chartering Manager

Location: Shanghai

Key Responsibilities:

  • Chartering Operations: manage the day-to-day chartering activities related to various types of vessels including: Handy, Max, Panamax, MPP.
  • Business development: proactively initiate revenue-generating activities in the chartering space.
  • Market Analysis: conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks in the shipping industry.
  • Contract Negotiation: negotiate chartering contracts with clients, brokers, and other stakeholders to secure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, ship owners, and other industry stakeholders.

Qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in chartering, shipping, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with grains and minerals&metals categories.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in an international environment.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a strong sense of initiative.
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin.
