Job Title: Quality Director
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Quality Director to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in quality assurance across all stages of poultry processing, from animal welfare to slaughter, deboning, evisceration, and beyond. This role is critical in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the entire quality assurance process for poultry production, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company standards.
- Develop and implement quality control systems and procedures for all stages of poultry processing, including animal welfare, slaughter, scalding, defeathering, evisceration, deboning, and packaging.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Lead the development and implementation of HACCP plans and other food safety programs.
- Collaborate with production and operations teams to identify and address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with USDA, FDA, and other relevant regulations.
- Train and mentor quality assurance staff to maintain high standards of quality and safety.
- Analyze quality data and trends to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
- Maintain detailed records and documentation for all quality assurance activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Animal Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in quality assurance within the poultry or meat processing industry.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and other food safety regulations.
- Experience with all stages of poultry processing, including animal welfare, slaughter, scalding, defeathering, evisceration, deboning, and packaging.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Food Science, Animal Science, or a related field.
- Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or similar certification.
- Experience with global quality assurance programs and practices.
