Materials Manager
Job Title: Materials Manager Location: Tijuana, Mexico
Position Overview: The Materials Manager will oversee the efficient management of materials and inventory within our manufacturing facility in Tijuana, Mexico. This role is critical to ensure that all materials are available to meet production schedules, optimize inventory levels, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, excellent organizational skills, and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategies for materials management and inventory control.
Collaborate with production planning to ensure materials availability aligns with production schedules.
Monitor and analyze inventory levels, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms to secure favorable agreements.
Oversee the procurement process, including sourcing, purchasing, and receiving materials.
- SIOP & S&OP
Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery and storage of materials.
Conduct regular audits to verify inventory accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Prepare and present reports on inventory status, supplier performance, and material-related metrics.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards related to materials handling and storage.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in materials management or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of supply chain and inventory management principles.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems.
Ability to analyze data, generate reports, and make data-driven decisions.
Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., APICS, CPM).
Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
