Job Summary:

The Packaging Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing packaging solutions for our food and beverage products. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure packaging meets quality, safety, and regulatory standards while optimizing cost and sustainability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in packaging engineering, materials science, and project management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development:

    • Develop innovative packaging solutions that enhance product protection, shelf life, and consumer appeal.
    • Create detailed packaging specifications, drawings, and prototypes.
    • Conduct material selection and testing to ensure packaging integrity and compliance with industry standards.
  • Project Management:

    • Lead packaging projects from concept to commercialization, ensuring timely and successful execution.
    • Collaborate with R&D, marketing, production, and supply chain teams to align packaging solutions with product requirements and business objectives.
    • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Quality and Compliance:

    • Ensure packaging designs comply with food safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
    • Conduct packaging performance testing, including drop tests, compression tests, and environmental simulations.
    • Address and resolve packaging-related issues in production and supply chain processes.
  • Sustainability:

    • Identify and implement sustainable packaging solutions to reduce environmental impact.
    • Evaluate and recommend eco-friendly materials and processes.
    • Support company sustainability initiatives and goals.
  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Stay updated on industry trends, new materials, and technologies in packaging.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance packaging efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
    • Provide technical support and training to production and quality teams.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
    • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in packaging engineering, preferably in the food and beverage industry.
    • Proven track record of successful packaging design and project management.
  • Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of packaging materials, design principles, and manufacturing processes.
    • Proficiency in CAD software and packaging design tools.
    • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
