Safety Coordinator
Company: Leading Food Manufacturer
We are currently seeking a dedicated Safety Coordinator to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of one of the country's leading food manufacturers.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain compliance with all plant safety and environmental programs, including annual updates to safety plans.
- Facilitate the Safety Committee: coordinate agenda, maintain attendance records, and document meeting minutes.
- Conduct periodic compliance audits and generate work orders for any findings.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all safety and environmental inspections, recordkeeping, and reporting.
- Initiate, coordinate, and conduct safety and health training, including weekly huddle meetings, new hire orientation, and annual training.
- Lead and conduct employee incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Keep training records, environmental reports, and other state or federal documents current.
Job Requirements:
- 1-3 years of safety work experience required.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience in a company with 500+ employees preferred.
- Ability to speak Spanish or another language other than English preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations (General Industry) is a must.
- 1st Aid/CPR/AED Certification.
- Bachelor of Science degree in safety, environmental, industrial hygiene, or related discipline desired but not required with requisite experience.
- Understanding of Risk Management Procedures (RMP) and Process Safety Management (PSM) is a plus.
