Area Operations Manager

Seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader to oversee plant operations along the I-84 corridor. This role requires significant travel (50-75%) and involves managing multiple plant locations to ensure operational excellence and strategic growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Establish and manage the annual capital plan, including setting operational goals and expectations.
  • Capital Projects: Support and coordinate strategic capital projects, manage maintenance, and discretionary capital plans.
  • Operational Management: Optimize throughput, yield, and maintenance planning. Train and coach location Plant Managers and Superintendents.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and lead Plant Optimization Engineers (POE), develop annual goals, create work assignments, and foster employee development.
  • Financial & Business Acumen: Drive operational excellence for throughput, risk management, and quality systems. Establish preventive and predictive equipment and facility maintenance reliability systems. Utilize cost management techniques and maximize yield.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Facilitate large and/or complex strategic business initiatives. Drive market-based capital projects including qualification (ROI), scoping, and execution.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 8+ years in the corrugated industry in a leadership role with a proven track record of success.
  • Preferred: Experience with modern high-speed equipment technology.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead through vision, values, and trust, ensuring safety, integrity, and a strong work ethic.
  • Strategic Thinking: Big picture thinker with a market and customer focus.
  • Employee Engagement: Ability to engage employees and foster a continuous improvement culture.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong ability to follow through on plans and details.
  • Technical Proficiency: Capability to create and manage software for building capital plans, project plans, and action registers.
