Job Overview: The Director of Indirect Procurement will lead efforts to enhance cost efficiency, quality, and delivery for the company's non-production expenditures on a global scale. This role requires strong collaboration and influence within a center-led organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize the supply base, focusing on cost, quality, and delivery. Manage complex contracts and lead negotiations to secure favorable terms and long-term agreements with suppliers. Handle requisitions and purchase orders for both internal and customer-related needs. Communicate strategies effectively and manage a decentralized global procurement environment.
Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with various departments, including finance, operations, and legal, to align sourcing strategies with business objectives. Promote cross-functional collaboration to drive sourcing initiatives.
Stakeholder Engagement: Work with key stakeholders to gain support for sourcing initiatives and drive organizational change.
Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of sourcing professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Provide strategic and technical leadership, focusing on communication, people development, and teamwork. Play a key role in talent development within the Indirect Sourcing team.
Continuous Improvement: Enhance tools for spend visibility, dashboards, reports, and other business intelligence methods. Measure and track performance within each spend category. Drive annual productivity improvements through collaborative supplier relationship management.
Supplier & Cost Management: Manage supplier relationships to ensure high performance, including contract negotiations, performance monitoring, and issue resolution. Achieve cost savings through effective negotiation and strategic sourcing initiatives. Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cost savings, supplier performance, and procurement efficiency.
Compliance: Ensure all sourcing activities comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
Project Management: Lead and manage stakeholder teams on strategic sourcing initiatives or projects. Implement best practices and consult on Merger and Acquisition due diligence as needed, supporting acquisition integration projects.
Essential Requirements:
- 5 to 10 years of experience in Indirect Sourcing (e.g., MRO, HR/Professional Services, Travel Management, Fleet Management) with a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, Operations, or Finance.
- At least 3 years of experience in People Management.
- Proven success in a global center-led organization, with experience in transforming and building high-performing teams.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other database tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with Lean and/or Six Sigma training or experience.
- Strong Project Management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Master's Degree.
- Experience with Mergers & Acquisitions.
- Experience in the Manufacturing industry.
