The Food Safety Quality Assurance Manager (FSQA) provides leadership and direction of all plant food safety functions to support the company's food safety goals and ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies. Responsible for all products produced meet or exceed all customer, regulatory and company requirements as they relate to food safety. The FSQA will represent at meetings, in addition to other duties as assigned.
The Food Safety Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for:
- Manages day-to-day FSQA functions for the facility, including 1st and 2nd processing.
- Implements robust quality control processes, conducts inspections, and drives continuous improvement initiatives.
- Leads and manages a team of FSQA by providing guidance, training, and mentoring to achieve departmental objectives.
- Conducts regular inspections and audits of production processes, raw materials, and finished products to identify and address any quality issues/failures.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including Operations, R&D, and Supply Chain, to resolve quality-related concerns and implement corrective actions.
- Contributes to the development and execution of product food safety and quality programs to support the organization's goals.
- Ensures all HACCP, GMPs, sanitation preventive controls, supply chain preventive controls, and all other prerequisite food safety standards are met according to USDA, FSIS, FSMA, and corporate requirements.
- Meets with vendors, customers, quality representatives, and company personnel to discuss and resolve quality problems as required.
The Food Safety Quality Assurance Manager will have the following qualifications:
- B.S. or B.A. degree (or equivalent) in Food Science, Meat Science, Poultry Science, or related field required.
- Over 4+ years of relevant experience in a comparable position.
- HACCP Certification preferred.
