Maintenance Supervisor

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of machinery and equipment within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role entails leading a team of technicians to ensure all equipment is well-maintained, minimizing downtime, and ensuring consistent product quality and safety. You will play an essential part in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvements to optimize production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring they are trained and equipped to perform their duties effectively.
  • Develop and prioritize preventive maintenance schedules, work orders, and inspections to ensure operational continuity and minimal production interruptions.
  • Work closely with production and cross-functional departments to align maintenance schedules with production timelines, minimizing impact.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facilities to identify and address potential issues, ensuring proactive corrective actions are taken.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues efficiently; collaborate with external vendors as needed for repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records for maintenance activities, parts inventory, and equipment performance to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Enforce and maintain safety protocols in line with company policies, OSHA regulations, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with upper management to develop strategies for continuous improvement, focusing on equipment reliability and maintenance performance.
  • Monitor maintenance costs and work within set budgets while optimizing resources and reducing waste.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on maintenance activities, machine performance, and adherence to schedules and KPIs.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in maintenance operations, ideally in manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proven expertise in preventive maintenance, root cause analysis, and reliability-focused practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing and motivating a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with different teams and external vendors.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific safety standards and practices.
  • Proficient in maintenance management software (CMMS) and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and handle urgent maintenance requests outside standard working hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or technical certification in mechanical, electrical, or a related field.
  • Certifications in maintenance management (e.g., Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) would be beneficial.
