Senior Project Engineer

Job Profile Summary

This position is responsible for providing technical and administrative leadership for projects managed by the Engineering Department. The candidate must be capable of working effectively with various inter-departmental teams, including operations staff across locations, as well as external vendors and consultants.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and execute complex, multi-faceted projects.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring adherence to budgetary goals and funding requirements.
• Provide expert consultation in the conceptual design, development, and implementation of cost-effective manufacturing process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local engineering regulations and standards.
• Identify technological innovations and emerging trends relevant to manufacturing processes and facilities.
• Interface and negotiate with external vendors and equipment manufacturers to secure the best value for goods and services.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Electrical.
• CAPEX experience with projects $1.5+ million.
• 5-7 years of experience managing technical support teams.
• Familiarity with the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
• Knowledge of the American Meat Institute (AMI) guidelines for sanitary design.
• Strong project management and organizational skills with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
• In-depth knowledge of food manufacturing facility requirements, with an emphasis on food safety.
• Ability to collaborate across multiple levels of the organization to achieve goals and objectives.
• Experience with regulatory compliance and utility management.
• Background in selecting, sourcing, and installing manufacturing equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
