Senior Supplier Quality Engineer
Position Summary: The Supplier Quality Engineer ensures suppliers meet and maintain quality standards. This role involves working with the global supply chain team to assess suppliers, conduct audits, and monitor performance through scorecards. The engineer will also address and resolve quality issues with suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers.
- Oversee and improve supplier performance.
- Conduct quality assessments and audits.
- Maintain supplier scorecards and manage corrective actions.
- Communicate specification changes and manage PPAP events.
- Monitor and coordinate the quality of goods from suppliers.
- Use Six Sigma processes to analyze and improve supplier quality.
- Communicate quality issues and updates professionally with all stakeholders.
- Manage non-conforming product strategies and fallout reconciliation.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in manufacturing; Six Sigma Green Belt certification; knowledge of GD&T.
- Preferred: Six Sigma Black Belt; 5 years in quality or manufacturing engineering; experience with steel and aluminum castings.
- Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office and Minitab.
Reporting Structure:
- Reports to: Manager, Global Sourcing
- Supervises: NCP and INSP-FG Inspectors
Other Requirements:
- Ability to read and interpret engineering prints and various instructions.
- Strong interpersonal and customer/supplier relation skills.
- Potential exposure to hazardous chemicals; commitment to environmental responsibility.
