Business Development Manager - Air & Ocean (m/f/d)
We are looking for a highly driven Business Development Manager to focus exclusively on acquiring new business and expanding the client base for our Air Freight and Ocean Freight services. This role is pivotal in driving the company's growth by identifying, securing, and onboarding new clients in the logistics and supply chain industry.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the freight forwarding market and a proven ability to build strong client relationships while achieving ambitious sales targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- New Business Acquisition:
- Proactively identify, approach, and convert potential clients into long-term business relationships.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to bring in new business specifically for Air Freight and Ocean Freight services.
- Client Engagement:
- Conduct client meetings, presentations, and negotiations to showcase the company's logistics solutions.
- Analyze client needs and offer tailored freight solutions that meet their specific requirements.
- Market Research:
- Research and analyze the French and regional market to identify new opportunities and trends in Air and Ocean Freight.
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of competitor activities to position the company effectively.
- Sales Pipeline Management:
- Build and manage a robust sales pipeline with a focus on closing new deals.
- Prepare and present sales forecasts, reports, and KPIs to senior management.
- Collaboration with Internal Teams:
- Work closely with operations, finance, and customer service teams to ensure smooth onboarding and service delivery for new clients.
- Provide feedback from the market to help improve service offerings and pricing strategies.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management in the Air Freight or Ocean Freight industry.
- Proven track record of generating and closing new business deals.
- Exceptional networking, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong knowledge of the logistics and freight forwarding market, especially in Lille or Paris and surrounding regions.
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a results-driven environment.
- Fluency in English and French is required; additional languages are a plus.
- Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
