Sales Manager

A leading packaging company is currently seeking a Sales Manager who will lead the sales team to drive revenue and growth by offering strategic, consultative services to customers. Your responsibilities include managing team productivity, ensuring customer-focused service, and leveraging market knowledge. You will train and coach sales reps, support the Sales Director in setting goals and standards, and provide ongoing support to customers, plants, and leadership.

Responsibilities for the Sales Manager:

  • Lead the sales team to exceed volume and profit goals through new account development, existing account growth, and margin improvement.
  • Develop the sales strategy with the Sales Director to align with strategic goals.
  • Implement the business unit strategy by developing processes, training, and tools, and aligning activities and KPIs.
  • Manage the sales team to maintain a strong prospect pipeline and drive results.
  • Develop pricing and sales strategies for target accounts with Sales Representatives.
  • Negotiate large customer contracts and support formal agreements with Sales Representatives, Management, and Legal.
  • Assist in developing the annual budget and monthly forecasts.
  • Conduct monthly performance reviews with direct reports to assess performance and identify growth opportunities.
  • Mentor and train the sales team on industry knowledge, relationship development, systems, tools, and processes.
  • Onboard, train, and coach new team members to ensure quick productivity.

Requirements for the Sales Manager:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience in the corrugated packaging industry, 5 years in sales leadership preferred.
  • Proven history of exceeding sales objectives.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with order entry systems, CRM tools, and reporting systems.
