Warehouse Manager
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of our client's warehouse facility near The Hague. The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, maintaining a safe and organized warehouse environment, and leading a team to meet operational goals. This role will be key in supporting our client's manufacturing operations and ensuring that all warehouse activities align with production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Warehouse Operations Management: Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including the receipt, storage, and dispatch of raw materials, components, and finished products. Ensure operations run smoothly and efficiently in accordance with company policies and safety standards.
- Inventory Control: Manage inventory levels and ensure accurate inventory tracking, minimizing stockouts or excess stock. Implement and maintain best practices for inventory management, including regular cycle counts and full stock audits.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead, motivate, and develop a team of warehouse staff, ensuring high levels of performance, engagement, and productivity. Conduct regular training and provide guidance to improve team skills, knowledge, and safety awareness.
- Logistics Coordination: Collaborate with the production team to align warehouse activities with production schedules, ensuring timely availability of materials for manufacturing and the efficient movement of finished goods to customers.
- Process Optimization: Identify areas for improvement within warehouse operations and implement process changes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve turnaround times. Introduce automation or technology solutions where applicable.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and warehouse procedures, including ensuring proper handling of hazardous materials, forklift operations, and warehouse layout optimization. Foster a safe work environment with a focus on continuous safety improvements.
- Technology & Systems: Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory, manage orders, and optimize warehouse processes. Maintain accurate data on stock levels, order fulfillment, and returns, and provide regular reporting to management.
- Cost Management: Control operational costs by managing labor, equipment, and material usage within the warehouse. Ensure the efficient use of warehouse space, reducing waste and optimizing workflow.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with purchasing, production, and shipping departments to ensure smooth flow of materials and products throughout the supply chain. Resolve any supply chain bottlenecks or issues that impact warehouse operations.
- Customer Focus: Ensure that products are dispatched on time and according to customer specifications. Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by ensuring products are correctly packaged and delivered promptly.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse management. Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and logistics software is highly preferred.
- Skills:
- Proven experience in managing a warehouse operation, including staff supervision, inventory control, and order fulfillment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Knowledge of warehouse best practices, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Languages: Fluency in English is required. Dutch language skills are a plus, but not mandatory.
