Maintenance Planner - Paper Converting Equipment
Overview:
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, coordinating, and scheduling maintenance activities for paper converting equipment within a manufacturing environment. This includes overseeing repairs, installations, preventive maintenance, training, cost estimation, and recordkeeping to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Promote and maintain a safe working environment for all employees
Understand and exceed customer expectations through effective maintenance planning
Schedule and prioritize work activities based on urgency, equipment availability, and personnel skillsets
Organize and provide training in safety procedures, maintenance techniques, and equipment operation
Support personnel management tasks including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
Oversee maintenance budgets to optimize costs and improve efficiency
Estimate and track costs for labor, materials, and external services
Inspect equipment and analyze maintenance needs for optimal performance
Establish maintenance policies, procedures, and operational goals
Implement and manage electronic maintenance systems and computer-based tracking tools
Provide leadership and coaching to maintenance teams to foster a positive, high-performing work environment
Communicate effectively with leadership, peers, and team members
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in maintenance practices and processes
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree preferred; or 5+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing maintenance
Strong knowledge of maintenance practices, safety regulations, and operational strategies
Understanding of business management principles, including strategic planning and resource allocation
Proficient in the English language with strong verbal and written communication skills
Technical understanding of engineering principles, tools, and equipment used in manufacturing
