Job Description: Senior Sales Manager (Air & Ocean Freight)

This client is seeking a Senior Sales Manager for their expanding Air and Ocean Freight operations. As part of an exciting phase of growth, this company is looking for a hands-on senior commercial manager who can work autonomously and drive the development of new verticals. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to play a key role in the expansion of a thriving logistics business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Approach: Drive the development and growth of multiple products and freight sales strategies, ensuring consistent business expansion in new and existing markets.
- Business Development: Establish and grow new verticals , contributing to the company's ambition to expand its footprint in Italy.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including those in specialised sectors such as food and beverage, project cargo, luxury goods, etc.
- Team Leadership: Act as a senior figure in the office, supporting a small but growing team while fostering a collaborative and high-energy sales culture.
- Market Expansion: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, across Italy, with high degree of flexibility with regards to regions of focus.
- Collaboration with a global leader: Leverage your knowledge and support of a global leader to drive new business and support the company's position in Italy and internationally.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Strong background in ocean freight, a background in air freight is a plus, and any experience in road transport is also beneficial.
- Specialisation: Experience or specialisation in certain verticals such as food and beverage, project cargo, or luxury goods would be advantageous.
- Geographic Knowledge: Ideally based in Milan, Tuscany, Venice, Genoa or Rome, with the ability to grow business in local territories.
- Ambition & Ethos: A driven, hands-on individual with the ambition to grow and lead within a rapidly expanding business.
