Technical Manager
DSJ Global is partnered with a Fortune 500 Paper and Packaging company looking to add a Technical Manager to their paper mill in Macon, GA.
The Technical Manager will lead Continuous Improvement functions, managing Process Engineering and Quality departments, while driving environmental, quality, and process engineering excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Continuous Improvement, using Lean-Six Sigma tools.
- Manage Performance Excellence projects to improve profitability.
- Mentor Green Belts for project success and certification.
- Oversee productivity, yield, and quality enhancements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve quality issues.
- Manage Quality Systems, ISO Certification, and Chain of Custody Certifications.
- Implement manufacturing best practices.
- Ensure quality control for raw materials.
- Support sales and technical services.
- Promote Safety, Environmental, Quality, Cost, and Productivity initiatives.
Qualifications:
- BS/BA in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Paper Science, or related field.
- 8+ years in pulp & paper industry.
- Proven ability to lead Lean-Six Sigma projects.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and best practices.
- Experience with Statistical Process Control and ISO 9000.
Preferred:
- 8+ years in paper/paperboard/container board manufacturing.
- Black Belt Certification.
