Job Title: Senior Purchasing Specialist - Food and Packaging

Location: Miami, FL.

Job Summary: Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Purchasing Specialist to join their procurement team. This role will focus on overseeing the purchasing activities for food and packaging categories, ensuring the highest quality and cost-efficiency for our food and beverage service organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of the food and packaging industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement sourcing strategies for food and packaging categories to ensure a reliable supply chain and cost-effective procurement.
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers, ensuring they meet quality standards, delivery schedules, and cost targets.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery, and payment terms.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and new product developments.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal teams to ensure optimal stock levels and timely replenishment of supplies.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure all purchased products meet the organization's quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Cost Control: Analyze and manage procurement budgets, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as operations, finance, and product development, to align procurement activities with organizational goals.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost savings to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CPIM) is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on food and packaging categories. Experience in the food and beverage industry is highly preferred.
  • Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract negotiation. Familiarity with food safety regulations and packaging standards.
