Our client is a confectionary private label and contract manufacturing company that is searching for a Director, Quality. The Director will lead the development, implementation, and management of food safety and quality assurance (FSQA) programs across all company operations. This role is responsible for ensuring that all quality systems meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and strengthen the Quality team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Oversee Quality Control and Quality Assurance Programs across multiple locations (existing and new facilities) to ensure compliance with customer, company, and government standards.
- Develop and unify Quality manuals, policies, procedures, data templates, audit criteria, and performance metrics/KPIs.
- Investigate, document, and resolve quality issues & customer complaints, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Spearhead initiatives for process and continuous improvement within the quality and sanitation teams.
- Establish and maintain comprehensive quality control systems and programs, including Self-Inspection, Supplier Management, Pest Control, Safety, Microbial Testing, and Defense.
- Utilize total quality management tools and methodologies for analytical and reporting processes.
- Collaborate with the VP of Operations and Production/Sanitation Managers to ensure proper sanitation processes are established and standardized.
- Work with vendors to ensure the quality of all purchased products, equipment, and materials meets established standards.
- Identify potential risks in the production process and develop mitigation strategies to prevent quality issues.
Qualifications:
- Experience in the food & beverage/supplements manufacturing industry.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field with 15 years of progressive Quality leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of food manufacturing, microbiology, raw materials, and quality control.
- Leadership skills and ability to create and support quality programs.
- Hands on expertise with developing and implementing HACCP plans, writing and updating SOPs/work instructions, and developing sanitation programs
