Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Director Procurement and Inventory Management to join our clients team in the Nashville area. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient management of our inventory and procurement processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, extensive packaging procurement experience, exceptional inventory management skills, and a strategic mindset to drive sales and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee packaging procurement to ensure cost-effective and quality packaging solutions.
- Lead and manage a team of buyers and a purchasing manager, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels, reduce costs, and improve turnover rates.
- Collaborate with sales and operations teams to forecast demand and ensure inventory aligns with business goals.
- Analyze inventory data and market trends to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure the best pricing and quality of products.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory and procurement.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Management Experience: Proven track record of leading and managing a team, including buyers and a purchasing manager.
- Inventory Skills: Deep understanding of inventory management principles, practices, and tools.
- Strategic and Sales Driven: Ability to develop and execute strategies that align with sales goals and drive business growth.
- Packaging Procurement experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certification in supply chain or inventory management (e.g., APICS, CPIM).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
