Position Overview:
As a Category Manager specializing in Injection Molding/Plastics, you will play a pivotal role in managing their supplier relationships, optimizing costs, and ensuring the highest quality standards for our medical device manufacturing processes. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement procurement strategies that align with their business objectives while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute category strategies for Injection Molding/Plastics, including supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure a robust supply chain that meets quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
- Conduct market analysis and stay abreast of industry trends to proactively identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Collaborate with engineering and R&D teams to drive innovation and support the development of new products and technologies.
- Lead supplier performance reviews and establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and improve supplier performance.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, internal departments, and executive leadership.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 4-6+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management, with a focus on Injection Molding/Plastics within the medical device industry.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to drive cost savings while maintaining quality standards.
- In-depth knowledge of injection molding processes, materials, and technologies.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for medical devices (e.g., FDA, ISO) is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly analytical with a strategic mindset and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with procurement software (e.g., SAP, Ariba) is a plus.
- Ability to work onsite in an office setting for at least 4 days per week.
