Supervisor Customs

Our client is seeking a Supervisor Customs to join their Global Forwarding team in Rotterdam.
As the Customs Supervisor, this individual will oversee daily customs operations, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. This role involves managing an operations team that interacts with customs brokers, ensuring timely and accurate shipment processing, and collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders to optimize customs operations.

Responsibilities
Team Leadership:
- Foster a team atmosphere focused on customer service and drive performance to meet productivity and organizational goals.
- Select, place, and train staff, defining specific job assignments within the customs operations team.
- Monitor and maintain knowledge of brokerage team activities, balancing capacity and workload while seeking process and efficiency improvements.
- Resolve issues that could delay cargo release, final delivery, or result in customer loss.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and leadership to improve, streamline, and develop processes and procedures.
- Manage team P&L.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
Operational Management:
- Plan, implement, and supervise operations to ensure compliance with customs regulations.
- Continuously improve processes in all areas of responsibility.
- Demonstrate strong decision-making skills and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Maintain high operational excellence in terms of timeliness and audit KPIs.
Customer Service:
- Act as the final escalation point for customer issues.
- Ensure customer SOPs are created and adhered to by employees and customers.
- Collaborate with Sales and Account Management on potential business and implementation.
