Position Overview: The EHS Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental health and safety programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in EHS engineering within a manufacturing environment and a strong mechanical engineering background.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to enhance safety and compliance.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments, identifying areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address EHS concerns and promote a safety-first culture.
- Monitor regulatory changes and ensure company compliance with environmental laws and safety standards.
- Provide training and resources to employees on EHS best practices and emergency response procedures.
- Investigate incidents and accidents, preparing reports and recommending corrective actions.
- Maintain and update EHS documentation, including safety data sheets and compliance records.
- Assist in the implementation of waste management and pollution prevention programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in EHS engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA standards, and industry best practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or similar are a plus.
