Global Procurement Manager (Food & Ingredients)
SUMMARY
We are a global leader in the production and distribution of health-conscious alternatives to traditional food ingredients, catering to consumers who seek healthier lifestyle choices. We serve a worldwide market to both retail customers and commercial clients and are looking for a Procurement Manager to oversee all aspects of procurement, including strategic sourcing, negotiating contracts, managing long-term supplier relationships, and ensuring that our purchasing activities align with our production needs and budgetary constraints.
The Global Procurement Manager will have these responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic sourcing process to identify and select suppliers who can provide quality ingredients and materials at competitive prices.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services while also monitoring supplier performance and addressing any issues that arise.
- Negotiate contracts with global suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing agreements, while also ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Work closely with the production and inventory teams to forecast demand, maintain optimal inventory levels, and minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives and strategies to optimize purchasing processes and reduce expenses without compromising quality or service levels.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure that all purchased materials and ingredients meet our quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Stay informed about market trends, pricing fluctuations, and industry developments to make informed decisions and maintain competitiveness in the marketplace.
- Collaborate with other departments, including production, finance, and logistics, to ensure alignment of purchasing activities with overall business objectives and operational needs.
- Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate supply chain disruptions, such as supplier shortages, price fluctuations, or geopolitical issues.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the purchasing function, leveraging data analytics and performance metrics to identify opportunities for efficiency gains and process optimization.
The Global Procurement Manager has the following qualifications:
- Master's or Bachelor's Degree w/ 5-9 years of Supply Chain/Procurement experience
- Must have experience in a highly regulated, food industry
