We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Trade Lane Manager to oversee and manage our clients growing operations in the Indian Subcontinent (ISC). As part of a rapidly expanding division within one of Germany's leading logistics companies, you will play a key role in developing and managing air and ocean freight services between the ISC region and global markets. This is a developmental position, offering significant growth opportunities in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Trade Lane Management: Develop, manage, and optimise air and ocean freight services for the Indian Subcontinent, ensuring alignment with global logistics strategies.
- Business Development: Expand and maintain a strong network of clients, agents, and partners within the ISC region, with a focus on a diverse range of industries.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build long-lasting relationships with key customers, particularly in automotive, textiles, and other sectors, to expand market share.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, regulations, and competitor activities within the ISC region to identify new business opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Performance Monitoring: Ensure high service levels, operational excellence, and cost-effectiveness across the trade lane, leveraging internal resources and partnerships.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with commercial, operations, and customer service teams to ensure smooth execution of trade lane activities.
- Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular reports on trade lane performance, sales, and market development to senior management, identifying areas for improvement and growth.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in air and ocean freight management, with a focus on the Indian Subcontinent market. A strong background in international logistics, supply chain management, and trade lane development is essential.
- Industry Knowledge: Ideally, experience working in automotive, textiles, or other diverse industries, but we welcome a broad portfolio of expertise.
- Network: Proven track record of managing a wide range of clients and partners in the ISC region, with an established portfolio.
- Languages: Fluent in English and German; knowledge of additional languages (e.g., Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, or Urdu) is a strong plus.
- Communication Skills: Strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities, with an excellent command of both written and spoken communication in English and German.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills to monitor trade lane performance and identify growth opportunities.
- Location: Ideally based in Hamburg, but open to candidates from other regions within Germany.
