BESS Procurement Manager
We are supporting a fast-growing IPP specializing in utility-scale solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects across North America. With a quickly growing portfolio of active projects across varying geography and power markets including commercial, industrial, and utility customers, this role offers a chance to get in on the ground floor of a purpose-driven renewable business.
What You'll Do
Procurement & Supplier Management
- Lead the end-to-end procurement of PV modules and BESS equipment in line with project timelines.
- Execute and manage purchase orders, monitor open commitments, and track equipment costs.
- Develop strong supplier relationships and hold vendors accountable to contracts and delivery expectations.
- Forecast material demand across our portfolio and align sourcing with project schedules.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to validate technical specs and ensure equipment compatibility.
Cost & Contract Oversight
- Monitor committed and actual spending; track cost variances and recommend optimizations.
- Help shape cost-reduction strategies and improve procurement efficiency across the board.
- Ensure supplier compliance with purchase terms, logistics schedules, and warranty requirements.
Inventory & Logistics
- Oversee inventory tracking, equipment allocation, and warehousing (minimizing it when possible).
- Coordinate logistics and transportation to site locations with precision and minimal delays.
- Support site teams with quality assurance and materials acceptance on delivery.
Compliance & Reporting
- Assist with vendor onboarding and ensure procurement processes align with internal policies and legal standards.
- Maintain procurement records and reports for leadership and stakeholder transparency.
- Lead bid processes, review contractor proposals, and support negotiation and vendor selection.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of procurement, supply chain, or sourcing experience with utility-scale solar or energy storage projects.
- Expertise in purchase order management, contract terms, and supplier performance evaluation.
- Detail-oriented, data-savvy, and organized with strong communication and coordination skills.
- Experience building or scaling procurement operations is a major plus.
