Manufacturing Technician

Job Description:

  • Perform electrical and mechanical assembly from sub-assembly to finished goods.
  • Operate and load automated manufacturing equipment following work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Assemble products in accordance with good manufacturing practices, including materials specifications, parts, assembly, and operating process equipment.
  • Document assembly processes, instructions, and status reports for all incoming Grid products.
  • Collaborate with Field Service and Engineering teams to assist in troubleshooting both in-house and field issues as needed.
  • Support the Supervisor or Team Leader in production planning.
  • Comply with all safety protocols within the Grid manufacturing plant and promptly report any potential safety risks to your Supervisor or Team Lead.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum: High School or Technical School diploma with 3+ years of industry experience.
  • Preferred: 2-year technical degree or journeyman electrician certification.

Required Skills, Competencies, Authorities, and Training:

  • Basic technical and mechanical skills.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting electro-mechanical assembly drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with reading blueprints and technical data sheets is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of safety practices in a plant environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer literate in spreadsheet software, word processing, and internet use.
  • Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds or exert 75 pounds of force regularly.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
