Technical Manager - Paper and Packaging

Location: Atlanta, GA

Working Situation: Onsite

We are currently partnered with a leading provider in the paper and packaging industry. This organization is known for its commitment to environmental sustainability, innovation, and quality, ensuring their products meet the highest standards and contribute to a greener future.

The Technical Manager will oversee Continuous Improvement functions and provide leadership to achieve organizational goals. This role is key in managing departments, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and optimizing processes to drive quality and efficiency. The Technical Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and play a vital role in coaching, mentoring, and driving performance excellence.

The Technical Manager will be responsible for:

  • Managing Continuous Improvement initiatives using Lean-Six Sigma tools and methodology.
  • Leading and resourcing performance improvement projects that drive profitability and efficiency.
  • Coaching and mentoring Green Belts, ensuring successful project execution and certification.
  • Troubleshooting quality problems and implementing timely corrective actions.
  • Overseeing the management of Quality Systems, ISO Certification, and Chain of Custody Certifications.
  • Advocating for and implementing best practices in manufacturing and quality control.
  • Providing customer service assistance for sales and technical teams, as needed.
  • Collaborating with leadership to champion safety, environmental, quality, cost, and productivity goals.
  • Leading a team of technical experts and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

The Technical Manager will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Paper Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in the pulp and paper industry.
  • Proven ability to teach, coach, and mentor Lean-Six Sigma projects.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Experience with ISO standards and quality management systems.
    Familiarity with Statistical Process Control and continuous improvement systems.
