Job Title: Materials Manager
Job Summary: The Materials Manager will oversee the procurement, inventory management, and distribution of materials required for aerospace manufacturing and operations. This role ensures that materials are available to meet production schedules, quality standards, and cost objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Management: Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials.
- Inventory Control: Maintain optimal inventory levels to support production needs while minimizing excess stock and obsolescence.
- Supplier Relations: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Logistics Coordination: Oversee the transportation and storage of materials, ensuring efficient and secure handling.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure materials meet aerospace industry standards and specifications.
- Cost Management: Monitor and control material costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of materials management professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on material status, inventory levels, and procurement activities to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in materials management, preferably in the aerospace industry.
- Skills: Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems.
- Certifications: APICS CPIM or CSCP certification is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Environment: Office and manufacturing environments.
- Travel: Occasional travel to supplier locations and industry conferences.
