Engineering Tech
Engineering Technician needed for a 6-month contract with consumer electronics company based in northern New Jersey.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Engineering Technician will work closely with the product development team with assembly, disassembly, and testing products in the testing lab. This individual will be responsible for conducting tests on these electromechanical products. Daily tasks will involve product disassembly, running test procedures, and working closely with the larger engineering team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assemble, test, and troubleshoot mechanical/electrical products.
- Collaborate with the product development team to develop new product systems and evaluate system functionalities.
- Assist engineering teams with testing and experiments.
- Disassemble competitors' products for technical evaluation.
- Execute experiments, collect and analyze data, and report findings.
- Clean and maintain lab equipment, including recalibration.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in engineering is preferred. Technical school may be applicable depending on candidate work experience.
- 0-1 years of related technical experience.
- CAD experience is a plus but not required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365.
- Ability to use power tools, hand tools, and soldering equipment.
- Hands-on experience with experiments or laboratory equipment.
- Experience with building and disassembling small products.
- Ability to multitask and work well within a team environment.
