Quality Control Inspector
A well-established and growing aerospace manufacturing company is seeking a skilled Quality Inspector to join its Quality Assurance team. This company specializes in producing high-precision components for the aerospace and defense industries and is known for its commitment to safety, performance, and compliance with the highest quality standards.
Position Summary:
The Quality Inspector will perform inspections on aerospace parts and assemblies throughout the manufacturing process. This includes verifying dimensional accuracy, reviewing documentation, and identifying non-conformances to ensure products meet rigorous internal and customer specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience in an AS9100-certified environment and be confident working with precision tools and blueprints.
Responsibilities:
Conduct in-process, final, and incoming inspections of aerospace components and materials.
Use micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications, including GD&T.
Accurately document inspection findings and maintain detailed records.
Identify and report non-conformances and support corrective action efforts.
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality concerns.
Support First Article Inspections (FAIs) and audit activities as needed.
Adhere to AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards and customer requirements.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical training or associate degree preferred.
3+ years of experience in a quality inspection role within aerospace or precision manufacturing.
Strong understanding of GD&T and ability to read complex blueprints.
Experience with manual measurement tools; CMM experience is a plus.
Familiarity with AS9100/ISO 9001 quality systems.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Environment:
Fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Standing and manual handling of parts required (up to 25 lbs).
Use of PPE required in designated areas.
