Food Safety and Quality Director

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Quality and Food Safety Director to lead our quality assurance, quality control, and food safety functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality management and food safety within the food industry and will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality and food safety standards and systems to ensure that our products meet or exceed customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
The Quality and Food Safety Director will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing quality assurance, quality control, and food safety strategies to align with organizational goals and customer requirements.
- Leading, mentoring, and managing the quality assurance and food safety team to ensure high performance and professional development.
- Overseeing the implementation and maintenance of quality management systems (QMS) and food safety management systems (FSMS), including ISO certifications and other relevant industry standards.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., FDA, GMP, ISO, HACCP, etc.) and driving initiatives to achieve and maintain certifications.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements and leading initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, increase efficiency, and ensure food safety.
- Analyzing quality and food safety metrics and trends to drive data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.
- Coordinating and overseeing internal and external audits, ensuring corrective actions are taken to address non-conformities.
- Working closely with other departments, including production, engineering, and R&D, to ensure quality and food safety standards are integrated into all processes and product development activities.
The Quality and Food Safety Director will have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in quality management and food safety within the packaging or food industry, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems (QMS), food safety management systems (FSMS), industry regulations, and standards (ISO, GMP, FDA, HACCP, etc.).
