EHS Field Technician
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated EHS Field Technician to join our team and support environmental, health, and safety initiatives in our chemical manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring a safe and compliant working environment by conducting inspections, monitoring safety performance, and assisting with the implementation of EHS programs and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Inspections: Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards, unsafe practices, and environmental risks within the manufacturing facility.
EHS Monitoring: Monitor environmental conditions, chemical usage, waste management, air quality, and other safety parameters to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Compliance Reporting: Assist in preparing EHS reports, tracking compliance metrics, and ensuring that all necessary documentation is maintained for audits and inspections.
Training and Support: Support the development and delivery of EHS training programs for employees. Provide guidance on safety protocols, emergency response procedures, and safe handling of chemicals.
Incident Investigation: Participate in investigations of workplace accidents or near misses, gather data, and assist in developing corrective and preventive actions.
Environmental Compliance: Assist with environmental management activities, including waste disposal, chemical storage, and spill response protocols to meet regulatory requirements.
EHS Program Implementation: Help implement EHS policies and procedures, and work to continuously improve safety and environmental practices within the facility.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in an EHS role within the chemical manufacturing industry or a similar sector.
Skills:
Knowledge of EHS regulations and standards, including OSHA, EPA, and local environmental laws.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify hazards and potential safety concerns.
Excellent communication skills to work effectively with both employees and management.
Ability to use monitoring equipment and safety tools (e.g., gas detectors, PPE, etc.).
