EHS Field Technician

Job Summary:
We are looking for a hands-on and safety-conscious Field Safety Technician to support the implementation and enforcement of safety protocols for our chemical manufacturing operations. This role plays a critical part in promoting a safe working environment through field inspections, incident response, training, and compliance monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine field inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety procedures, PPE usage, and regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA, PSM).

  • Monitor high-risk work (e.g., confined space entry, hot work, chemical handling) and provide real-time safety oversight.

  • Support incident investigations by gathering evidence, interviewing personnel, and assisting in root cause analysis.

  • Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions for operations and maintenance teams.

  • Maintain and calibrate safety equipment, such as gas detectors, eyewash stations, and fire extinguishers.

  • Ensure proper documentation of safety observations, inspections, and incident reports.

  • Assist with emergency response drills, chemical spill containment, and hazard communication programs.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or certification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field; or equivalent work experience.

  • 2+ years of safety experience in an industrial or chemical manufacturing environment.

  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations, PSM standards, and hazardous material handling.

  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced field setting.

  • Safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, HAZWOPER, First Aid/CPR) are a plus.
