EHS Field Technician
Job Summary:
We are looking for a hands-on and safety-conscious Field Safety Technician to support the implementation and enforcement of safety protocols for our chemical manufacturing operations. This role plays a critical part in promoting a safe working environment through field inspections, incident response, training, and compliance monitoring.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct routine field inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety procedures, PPE usage, and regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA, PSM).
Monitor high-risk work (e.g., confined space entry, hot work, chemical handling) and provide real-time safety oversight.
Support incident investigations by gathering evidence, interviewing personnel, and assisting in root cause analysis.
Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions for operations and maintenance teams.
Maintain and calibrate safety equipment, such as gas detectors, eyewash stations, and fire extinguishers.
Ensure proper documentation of safety observations, inspections, and incident reports.
Assist with emergency response drills, chemical spill containment, and hazard communication programs.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree or certification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
2+ years of safety experience in an industrial or chemical manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with OSHA regulations, PSM standards, and hazardous material handling.
Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced field setting.
Safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, HAZWOPER, First Aid/CPR) are a plus.
