My client is seeking an Estimator III to join their team in Vancouver, WA. The Estimator III is responsible for overseeing, managing, and completing estimates for assigned projects. This includes reviewing specifications, proposals, drawings, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates for ship repair and other marine or non-marine related projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze technical specifications, drawings, and other data to calculate project costs, including labor, materials, and production time.
  • Collaborate with engineers and program managers to ensure accuracy and competitiveness in the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Support proposal development efforts.
  • Prepare estimates for Change Orders on new and existing projects.
  • Support labor rate analysis and business case development.
  • Produce labor, material, and subcontractor price estimates.
  • Develop long lead and critical material lists where required.
  • Analyze subcontractor quotes in support of Make/Buy decisions.
  • Interact with Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) to ensure compliance with estimates, including compliance with the Truth in Negotiations Act (TINA).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in the maritime industry.
  • Experience with cost/price analysis, bid analysis, and market analysis.
  • Significant experience with FAR and DCAA requirements.
  • Proficiency in ProPricer or similar estimating tools.
