Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Maintenance Manager to lead a team of 17 maintenance professionals in the food and beverage industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of all equipment, facilities, and infrastructure, minimising downtime, and optimising productivity while adhering to strict hygiene and safety regulations. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and technical expertise to manage daily maintenance activities while implementing preventive and predictive maintenance strategies in compliance with German food safety and industrial regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 17 maintenance technicians and support staff.

  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to ensure optimal equipment performance and compliance with food safety regulations.

  • Oversee maintenance schedules, assign tasks, and ensure timely completion of work orders.

  • Monitor and manage maintenance budgets, controlling costs while maintaining efficiency.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost-saving initiatives.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and inventory levels.

  • Coordinate with production, quality assurance, and engineering teams to ensure seamless facility operations.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and operational issues specific to food and beverage production equipment.

  • Manage relationships with external vendors, contractors, and service providers.

  • Stay updated on technological advancements in food processing equipment and implement best practices to enhance maintenance operations.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Food Technology, or Facilities Management (preferred) or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of 5+ years of maintenance management experience in the food and beverage industry.

  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing and developing teams.

  • In-depth knowledge of food production machinery, refrigeration systems, and hygiene requirements.

  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organisational skills.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.

  • Fluency in German and English is required.
