Maintenance Supervisor

DSJ is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join a heavy metal manufacturing company in the Appleton, WI area. You'll play a crucial role in managing the maintenance department's activities during your assigned shift. As the Maintenance Supervisor, you'll ensure the safe and efficient operation, utilization, and upkeep of all equipment, facilities, and grounds. You'll lead a dedicated team of electricians and mechanics, overseeing their safety, performance, attendance, and work quality, while driving continuous improvements and optimizing overall operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Maintenance Technicians, ensuring safe, efficient task assignment in line with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Coordinate with maintenance planners, purchasing, other supervisors, and vendors for equipment repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Review and maintain preventive maintenance (PM) schedules, ensuring timely completion and proper documentation.
  • Monitor equipment uptime and performance, collaborating with production teams to implement improvements and efficiencies.
  • Provide safety training, inspect work areas, and address unsafe conditions, while conducting performance reviews for team members.

Key Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of machines, tools, hydraulics, mechanics, pneumatics, and basic electrical functions, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and their application in the design and production of goods and services.
  • Skilled in assessing and improving individual and organizational performance, and implementing corrective actions when needed.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, motivate teams, and direct individuals to maximize productivity and ensure the right people are in the right roles.
  • Expertise in customer service principles, quality control, production processes, and cost management to enhance manufacturing efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Other Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or engineering preferred
  • Prior maintenance leadership is required
  • Experience in heavy metal manufacturing preferred
