Rotating Equipment Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and hands-on Rotating Equipment Specialist to provide technical expertise and support for the maintenance, reliability, and performance of rotating machinery in a chemical manufacturing environment. This role is critical in ensuring equipment uptime, safety, and long-term asset integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise on the selection, installation, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of rotating equipment (e.g., pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, agitators, blowers).

  • Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.

  • Support root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and lead corrective actions for equipment-related failures.

  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, reliability, and engineering teams on capital projects, upgrades, and equipment specifications.

  • Maintain and improve documentation related to equipment maintenance, performance history, and technical standards.

  • Evaluate and recommend spare parts strategies, lubrication practices, and condition monitoring technologies (e.g., vibration analysis, oil analysis).

  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations and corporate engineering standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.

  • 5+ years of experience in rotating equipment maintenance and reliability within a chemical or industrial manufacturing environment.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, equipment diagnostics, and maintenance best practices.

  • Experience with CMMS systems (e.g., SAP, Maximo) and reliability tools (e.g., FMEA, RCA, RCM).

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
