Director of Procurement

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the procurement strategy aligned with business goals and production requirements.

  • Lead and manage the procurement team across multiple sites or regions.

  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for raw materials, equipment, MRO supplies, and capital goods.

  • Drive cost optimization initiatives, including supplier consolidation, strategic sourcing, and value engineering.

  • Establish KPIs and monitor procurement performance metrics (cost savings, delivery performance, inventory levels, etc.).

  • Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and finance to forecast demand and manage budgets.

  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, corporate policies, and ethical sourcing standards.

  • Implement risk mitigation strategies for supply chain disruptions and maintain business continuity plans.

  • Leverage ERP systems and procurement technologies to improve process efficiency and reporting.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, supplier innovation, and strategic partnerships.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field (Master's or MBA preferred).

  • 10+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the heavy manufacturing sector (e.g., automotive, aerospace, industrial equipment, etc.).

  • Proven expertise in sourcing raw materials (e.g., steel, aluminum, castings, forgings), CAPEX procurement, and vendor management.

  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and financial acumen.

  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Familiarity with international sourcing, tariffs, and logistics is a plus.
