A prominent shipyard is looking for a Director of Shipyard Operations to oversee and manage all aspects of the shipyard's daily operations.
The Director of Shipyard Operations will have the following responsibilities:
- Oversee all shipyard operations, including dry docking, repairs, conversions, and maintenance of various vessels.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Coordinate with project managers and other departments to meet project milestones.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. Promote a culture of safety throughout the shipyard.
- Manage and allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to optimize productivity and efficiency.
- Develop and manage operational budgets, monitor expenditures, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of skilled professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their needs and ensuring their satisfaction with our services.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
The ideal Director of Shipyard Operations candidate will have the following skillset:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in shipyard operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Bachelor's degree in Maritime Operations, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead diverse teams is required.
- In-depth understanding of ship repair, maintenance, and conversion processes
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and safety standards in the maritime industry.
- Results-oriented, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
