Supplier Quality Engineer

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to manage and enhance the quality of raw materials and components from suppliers for our high-purity chemical manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will work closely with suppliers to ensure quality standards are met, drive continuous improvement, and resolve any quality issues that may arise. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead supplier quality initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Quality Management: Lead supplier qualification, performance monitoring, and quality audits to ensure suppliers meet required specifications and regulatory standards for high-purity chemical products.

  • Supplier Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to drive quality improvements, resolve issues, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials.

  • Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Actions: Investigate quality issues related to supplier materials, lead root cause analysis, and collaborate with suppliers to implement corrective and preventive actions.

  • Quality Assurance Support: Work with cross-functional teams (R&D, Manufacturing, and Production) to ensure that materials meet quality specifications and support product development initiatives.

  • Continuous Improvement: Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives, using data-driven methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean) to improve supplier quality performance and reduce defects.

  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure supplier quality processes align with industry regulations, company standards, and customer requirements. Maintain accurate records of supplier audits, performance data, and corrective actions.

  • Supplier Training: Provide training and support to suppliers on quality requirements, documentation standards, and best practices to enhance their overall quality management processes.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Quality Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in supplier quality management or a similar role within the high-purity chemical manufacturing industry.

  • Skills:

    • Strong understanding of quality management systems, supplier auditing, and regulatory compliance (ISO, GMP).

    • Experience with root cause analysis, problem-solving methodologies, and corrective/preventive actions.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with suppliers and internal teams.

    • Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and continuous improvement tools.
