The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead a high-performing team in a fast-paced industrial setting. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of equipment maintenance, reliability programs, and team development to ensure smooth, efficient operations. You will be at the forefront of shifting maintenance strategies from reactive to proactive, enhancing operational performance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
- Oversee and direct plant maintenance and electrical teams, ensuring seamless coordination and execution of reliability initiatives.
- Drive a proactive maintenance culture, minimizing downtime through preventive strategies and cutting-edge reliability practices.
- Manage safety and environmental protocols, enforcing the highest standards for maintenance personnel.
- Monitor spare parts, maintenance supplies, and overall equipment inventories, ensuring optimal stock levels for uninterrupted operations.
- Lead budgeting efforts, allocating resources effectively to reduce costs while maximizing equipment reliability.
- Implement and maintain a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track work orders, spare parts, and equipment history.
- Analyze data, generate reports, and provide actionable recommendations to enhance plant operations.
- Develop, coach, and mentor maintenance teams, ensuring they are equipped and motivated to perform at their best.
- Maintain open, consistent communication with technicians and other teams to drive operational success.
- Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce operating costs.
- Collaborate with internal teams on capital and non-capital projects to optimize plant operations.
- Track key maintenance metrics, ensuring compliance with performance goals and industry standards.
What We're Looking For
- At least 5 years of experience in plant maintenance, with a strong focus on reliability.
- 3+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing maintenance setting.
- Background in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred but not required.
- Experience in manufacturing, particularly in industrial or wood-based production, is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of reliability engineering, asset management, and maintenance best practices.
- Proven ability to set and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure maintenance efficiency.
- Hands-on experience managing maintenance budgets and optimizing resource allocation.
- A track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives and fostering a culture of reliability.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and procurement teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CMMS software to support maintenance operations.
